Michael H Davis
Michael was educated at the Nautical College Pangbourne and obtained his Private Pilot’s License prior to leaving school. A career as an airline pilot followed with British European Airways and Laker Airways flying a multitude of turboprop and jet aircraft including the Comet 4, Boeing 707 and the DC-10. He holds Airline Transport Pilot Licenses from the UK CAA, US FAA, Swiss FOCA, Bermuda, Ghana and Lebanon.
A founding director of UK based cargo airline, Pelican Air Transport, Michael went on to start Aircrew Limited operating wet lease capacity Boeing freighters in Africa and the Far East.
Aircraft trading was a natural progression in the ‘80s and both of Michael’s companies, Midair Group and Aerospace Finance Ltd have a history of principal ownership and leasing of Boeing equipment with airlines as diverse as Air New Zealand, Air Lanka, Air Gabon, QANTAS, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airlines, Japan Airlines, South African Airways and Boeing Military.
Midair Group was the originating source of over 65 Boeing aircraft to Russia’s Transaero Airlines OJSC and until 2015 were also the owners of Midair USA Inc, a Boeing heavy maintenance organisation in the USA will full FAA/EASA “D” Check capability on B747-400, B767-300 and 777-300 aircraft.
In the corporate jet world, Midair has always owned its own in-house private aircraft, ranging from the Citation series to a Hawker 800XP.
Michael’s experience in the aviation world extends to aircraft transaction legal negotiations, leasing and finance, operational and maintenance matters and engine and spare parts ownership and marketing.
